Everybody Needs a Cool Jacket

I’m so excited I need to share. EBook editing master, Jeff K. Hill (if you need someone to edit your work or format your eBook, drop this guy a line) and I are in the midst of working on formatting my novel for eReaders but also for physical book copies. You heard right.

I’m so excited I might be foaming at the mouth.

*wipes at mouth*

I’m working on putting together the jacket cover myself but I would love/need/murder someone for some feedback.

What should I add/change/delete?

You guys/gals are the bestest!

Dresser Madness

I wish I had taken more before pictures of this dresser I found in an antique/consignment shop. It was very red and uber shinny. It made the dresser look cheap. The piece was stamped.

Gibbard is one of, if not the oldest, Canadian furniture companies in the country. The dresser is probably from the early 50s and was in great condition, but the finish had seen better days. Even at 60 years old, this dresser was built well. Gibbard is also synonyomus with quality. You can find Gibbard furniture for sale for $500+ dollars a piece. I got this dresser for such a steal! Woot! Woot! :D

Stripping is a dirty job. LOL! But hello, Mahogany!

A lot of work but completely worth it!
Remember that steel tanker desk from a few posts ago?

It's finally done! Pictures to come. Until next post.

Fear, The Other Four Letter Word

Fear is a very powerful thing. I think it, more than anything else, has stalled work on my second novel. The fear that lives in my mind is also a cancer whispering into my ear.

“No one wants to read this.”

“This scene doesn’t work.”

“You are a terrible writer. What business do you have creating a novel?”

“You are just wasting your time.”

Yeah, it sucks. It kicks the motivation I had, when I sat down at my laptop, right in the gonads.

One of my favorite You-Tubers, Ill Doctrine, has aptly named his fear as The Little Hater and has done a few videos about it. These videos are on the mark.

This next video is especially on the money. When going deeper into the Little Hater voices, I’ve realized there is more than just one. One voice is telling me, “You’re story is too simple, you have to make it more complex and ground breaking and believable.” But the other voice is saying, “It’s cute that you think you’re smart and stuff, but this is not entertaining! Where’s the action?”
Beating the fear isn't enough on its own. We need a song. Yeah, a song! Take that, Little Hater!

So what does your Little Hater/fear sound like? Don't let them win! Keep on keeping on!
